Start off this day with a challenge. The challenge is to pray over or for a stranger either today or sometime on your trip. Be bold, for Christ has imbued you with boldness and authority if you are abiding in Him.
“For I have not given you a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” 2 Tim. 1:7
After reading the devotional this morning, ask Father for an encounter with someone who needs His touch. Then ask Him to let you know whom He wants to speak to today through you. We could stop there and be totally wrecked by that thought alone – the God of the universe wants to and does speak through you. Furthermore, He lifts up others from the pit, gives the downcast hope, and He binds up the brokenhearted through you. Father has chosen to work on this earth through humans, you and I. We are ambassadors, agents, dispensers of His glory and power.
So as you ask Father for an encounter with someone who needs His touch, asks Him also for the courage to respond. Face your fears. Do the uncomfortable. Go for it. You can’t do this on your own, but Jesus did and He can. Holy Spirit inside you can. In fact, all He’s looking for is a heart surrendered, a heart willing, a heart loyal to His voice. You never know whose life you could totally change through Holy Spirit’s power.
I once heard a great man of God encourage his disciples to remember this phrase: “God is the word. I am the voice. I’ve got something to say, and I’m going to say it.” You have a voice. Someone needs you to speak.
